Always seemt odd that the Australian Govt sent our Wedgetail surveillance plane and 85 crew to the UAE early after the USrael attack on Iran. We were told it was because as an ally they requested it for their defence. I don't understand the decision to confiscate funds etc. Al Habtoor was on x telling off trump and asking about the money they gave him - which I too would like to know more about, while mbz was freezing and confiscating assets? I thought they hadn’t froze assets. How and when did they do that? What mechanisms? It seems an odd move given that their capital influx is really built on security of persons and wealth no? So the message they wanted to send out is that neither are secure? Is abu dhabi planning on funding the other emirates through oil or?
This morning, as my tired old brain was slowly processing your briefing, another stray piece of bullshit floated to the top: you indicated that part of MBZ’s hostile takeover of the UAE was framed as a “moral cleanup.” Excuuuze me? A “moral cleanup” featuring a new alliance with dOnALd tRuMp, world class misogynist, predator and child rapist?… Thief of Billion$ and counting … The con artist who never met a single law he intended to keep…? And Bibi? The dude who’s turning his country into a nation of barbaric animals in an attempt to keep himself out of prison? Who has a cult of his own today “protesting” the NYT for printing details of industrial-scale rape atrocities being sanctioned and protected by his own govt? If THIS is a “cleanup” I shudder to imagine what horrors MBZ meant to communicate were ‘improved’ by an alliance with Dumbkopf donny and Bibi the barbarian.
Mitra, so intriguing. I’m completely dumb about the UAE, and these are the things that caught my eye as a novice:
1. So, Iran invests MASSIVELY in the UAE/Dubai and then MBZ sells them out to tRuMp (and Bibi)? Such a tRuMp move, right? But MBZ doesn’t seem to understand NO ONE ever gets anything in return from tRuMp, the guy who lies about everything, has no idea where is is most of the time or what he’s talking about — and NEVER DID, even before his brain began to liquefy. Maybe MBZ was a secret fan boy of The Apprentice and didn’t realize it was a tee vee entertainment show (for idiots)?
2. It’s kind of hard to believe MBZ did all this harm so fast, before the other six stopped him. I mean, it takes some time to deport 15,000 people. But I don’t know how it played out in real time, or how the govt leadership system is set up. What are the other six leaders like? Are they so weak they have no moves left to try and save their country? What is the press like there, and are the people informed about all the details you just explained to us?
3. Another tRuMp move: setting the son up as his new right hand man. With NO ONE’s approval. God, these short-sighted, greedy, asshole men are all the same no matter where they were born. For once though, I think (and dearly hope) these 3 fools are going to get the massive blowback that they so often evade. The problem of course, is that many MILLIONS of people are also going to suffer because of their treachery, arrogance and stupidity.

I suspect I'm not the only American who wasn't taught about Gulf State countries. Never having been there is a handicap.... I've spent time in the West Bank and had quite the shock...how our government was so pro-Netanyahu that the story of Palestinians was overlooked and mis-told.

Actually, dubai became dubai because of the iranians, particularly post iran and iraq war.
That is what is happening is such a shock to the leaders of Sharjah and Dubai.
