I think Trump will hope everyone forgets about the whole fiasco over the next 60 days and will wash his hands of the whole thing. He won’t put any effort into getting an agreement and won’t care if an agreement is ever done.
It remains to be seen if Donald Trump, who is an extremely weak personality with serious mental disorders, can resist massive oncoming pressure from the Zionist lobby. Or again this maybe another temporary semi-pause in an on going war in West Asia. Also it is contingent on Israel’s on going war in Lebanon, continuing attacks in Gaza and attempted depopulation of Palestinians in the West Bank.Events on the ground will dictate possible negotiations. In this dynamic it will be the Democrats as the primary party of war. And we'll have to see how the mouthpiece of imperialism, the Wall Street Journal responds. This was begun with the intention of reversing the decades-long decline of US imperialism as world hegemon, by seizing direct control over the key center of world energy supplies and above all to threaten China.
In their wild fantasy the Trump administration thought they might impose a pliant regime in Tehran, and restructure the Middle East under an Israeli-Saudi-Iranian satrapy as the local franchise for US imperialism. Then the US could disengage its military footprint to focus more power against China.
China was to have been threatened and weakened, and the uppity Europeans cowed.
Instead the exact opposite is happening on all fronts. The US is significantly weaker. Israel is weakened and likely to enter a deep political crisis. Iran appears to be strengthened, while the Gulf dictatorships and Saudi Arabia are all seriously weakened. The US will lose significant influence and power over the region. Every country in the region and the world is now recalculating its interests since the end of the Cold war, and in some ways for the first time in half a century, or even since 1945.
The entire post-WWII framework is rapidly coming apart.
The one thing that is sure is that this will now vastly accelerate political, economic and military preparations for the coming conflicts and world wars. Everything is in play.
On March 2, only days after Trump and Netanyahu initiated their war on Iran, France announced a massive buildup of its nuclear arsenal. It also announced eight other European countries had agreed to come under a French “nuclear umbrella,” meaning France would station nuclear weapons on their soil and retaliate with nuclear strikes in the event of a nuclear attack. Incredibly that included the UK, which nominally has its own nuclear arsenal (but that is in fact completely dependent on the US, so we see a major split between the UK and US, the beginning of the end of the 1958 Treaty).
Since then Norway became the ninth, and Finland agreed to station nuclear weapons on its soil.
A nuclear arms race has broken out in Europe, and undoubtedly all around the globe.
There are open discussions in Germany and Poland about developing nuclear weapons, as is also happening in Japan.
Military expenditures are at the highest since the height of the Cold War, and run up to WWII.
China is rapidly building up its military capabilities and economic preparations for an anticipated attack and naval blockade by the US and Japan.
Just in the last year Japan has broken three post-WWII taboos.
In 2025 prime minister Takaichi threatened war against China for the first time since 1945.
Takaichi deployed Japanese combat troops to the Philippines along with Japanese offensive anti-ship missiles aimed at China.
Japan authorized the sale of advanced offensive weapons to 17 countries, including a major sale of warships to Australia.
The march to war against China begun by Obama fifteen years ago in 2011 with his “Pivot to Asia” is accelerating.
Now the question is how will the U.S. defeat in Iran affect this march to war worldwide. Some might argue that it will slow things down. I think that is very unlikely. Instead the conclusion that all the imperialist powers will take away is that even greater military preparations are necessary to “protect our interests.”
We are already in the preparatory period of the run-up to the coming world wars, akin to the decades that preceded WWI and WWII.
