Hopefully this is another crack in the carefully crafted Pro Israel power structure in the Middle East. Part of a slave revolt that is spreading beyond the ability of the elite to control. I have always been uncomfortable with the muddled image that we are presented where the supposedly Muslim country of Saudi Arabia has this close alliance with anti-Muslim Israel and it’s lapdog the USA.

POWER TO THE PEOPLE

Mitchell R Lubart's avatar

Your false fact that the ME has a carefully crafted Pro Israel structure may be the dumbest thing I have read in years (that is a very high bar).

Your apparent desire for total domination by IRGC, Wahabists and Sharia Law speaks for itself.

JohnOnKaui's avatar

Where is your support for the idea that Iran has imperialist ambitions? Are you perhaps a Zionist?

The Zionists (Israeli Lobby) constructed the power structure that determined US policy toward Iran since about 1995. Not the "ME".

BJ Zamora's avatar

Gentlemen! The Middle East is a genuinely Semitic world that includes the ancient tribes of Israel, Palestine, Saudis, and Iraqis. That is an ancient and complex political and religious world. This latest battle between Iran and the Sunni half of the Muslim world is mixed in with the long unresolved relationship between Muslim and Jew.

And we in the Christian West have not helped to resolve this complex political/military series of actions and reactions. I do agree with this essay’s analysis because it’s the first I’ve read that acknowledges the incredibly historic and complex political and religious philosophy involved in this most recent eruption in the Holy Land, which includes all of the lands and peoples living in that ancient part of our world.

As we in the US face our own internal religious wars over religious belief and control, we should all be more understanding of the complex nature of human belief and cultural identity.

Marty Bluke's avatar

Let’s see. Maybe the fact that an Iranian proxy Hezbollah has ruled Lebanon for the last 20+ years, propped up Assad in Syria for years, sponsors the Houthis etc. What do you call that?

Marty Bluke's avatar

Wow that’s so convincing, NOT. What’s a lie? Hezbollah is not an Iranian proxy? It hasn’t ruled Lebanon? Assad wasn’t propped up by Iran? These are indisputable facts.

Anti Muslim Israel? No, backwards. Muslims sit on Supeeme Court, in Parliament, act as surgeons , police. They stitch up the Jews, Muslims and others your Hamas friends try to blow up in suicide bombings. However Jews have been expelled from many Muslim countries due to Israel existing. How about some logic?

Benjamin's avatar

Muslims sit on what Supreme Court and what parliament? I would bet that there is not a jew in Israel that has a muslim for a doctor.

Bibi funneled $25 million dollars/ month to Hamas through Qatar, and we know that because Qatar said that they would only do that if Bibi signed the request, which he did. Bibi has been funding Hamas in order to stage his false flag attack which is his excise for the ongoing genocide.

To those who are unaware of this I would suggest you watch the Bibi Files. It’s a documentary by a jewish journalist about an Israeli Police investigation of corruption by Bibi and his wife.

NicSchul's avatar

Where do you live ? You are so ignorant , it is hard to describe. I am Jew and I have been treated not a long time ago by Muslims doctors and at least half the department taking care of me were Muslims , they were wonderful like the all dpt itself . I am devastated by your ignorance but it seems that a lot of assholes like you that have never been here before strongly believe they know this country , certainly not on the bright side of it as it is much less attractive to sell to the media and social networks.

Keep enlightening yourself with ignorance, you will certainly encounter your own stupidity when you will reach your moment of grace … hopefully for you before ☺️

Benjamin's avatar

I never said the Muslims weren’t nice and it doesn’t surprise me a bit. Speaking of ignorance, you need to learn how to read.

I’m sorry but I’m influenced by videos of prominent zionist jews saying that jews are special and that everyone else are no better than animals. I watch the Israeli defense minister brutalizing prisoners and your soldiers making videos of them blowing up Palestinian houses as they all laugh.

Maybe Israel needs to stop slaughtering defenseless people and bulldozing their properties.

Getting alpha's avatar

You would bet that not a Jew has a Muslim doctor? Maybe you have read too much fiction about apartheid. Go into any ER in Israel if you can stand being around Jews for more than five minutes. Many trauma surgeons are Arabs, as are the nurses, physical therapists, etc. Don't forget Muslims get targeted in terrorist attacks too because THERE IS NO APARTHEID!!! Even the terrorists get the benefit of treatment in Israelis hospitals, on the SAME FLOORS AND UNITS as the terror victims with Muslim Arab and Jewish staff .

Yes Bibi did some stupid things he thought he was buying off Hamas to prevent terror. He was obviously wrong and will pay for it in the next democratic election in two months. Stupid yes, false flag no .

There was no false flag attack. Hamas terrorists wore Go Pros and filmed themselves doing unspeakable things to Israelis, soldiers, civilain men women and children, and babies, many of whom were peaceniks and who included Muslim, Arabs, Druse, Thais, American and British civilians, etc.. Now, the realists have taken over. The genocide attempt was against Jews.

Knesset is the Israeli name for its Parliament. Use the terms interchangeably. There is no question mark. There are Arab parties, and they number about ten per cent, and they have sat in governments as recently as this decade. In past years, they sat within Labor and Likud party delegations, although not recently.

October 7 denial is on par with Holocaust denial, in my opinion. It was the worst pogrom since the Holocaust. "Jewish journalist" does not mean crap. Jewish journalists can be as big of idiots as anyone else and often are. Don't talk to me about "as a Jew" reporters. Talk about what happened. Are you saying hundreds of Jews weren't held hostage and many of those murdered in captivity?

Last lets talk about what happened to Israelis AFTER 10-7. Thousands of Israelis gave their lives and tens of thousands their health suffering life changing injuries not even counting the PTSD. 80-90,000 in the North were barred from their homes for over a year due to Hizbolla. All of Israel lived in bomb shelters for months due to Iranian missiles, Houthi missiles, etc. Its not Israel's faults that Hamas BARRED its own Gaza residents from their prodigious tunnel system that they built with international aid. Israelis make each home have a bomb shelter, Hamas makes tunnels for VIP ie Hamas Party member only use. Gazans HAD to share their homes, schools and hospitals with terrorists and thus many died when Israel defended itself. Why is none of this talked about?

Bibi corruption is an issue, but its truth is not determined yet. He accepted cigars, he tried to motivate reporting by journalists that he thought was accurate, etc. He has not been convicted by anyone except the press. Hold your effin horses on that one.

The war did not even start for three weeks after October 7, because Israel was not ready and did not expect it. They should have expected it, but f-d up. Jews got killed and the world blames the Jews. What's new?

The root cause of the problems is religion. Modernity has challenged a thousand years of hierarchy under an angry god.

Modern civilization requires adherence to the principles of the Enlightenment : humanity and science. Not medieval submission to faith.

Kajin Fel rhech mewn's avatar

I personally believe that throughout history, more people have died, and are still dying in the name of religion, than any other reason... except possibly greed.

(I am looking at you America and Israel as the biggest perpetrators)

Some people say religion is for the weak minded people.

Other people say that religion is just a means to control the weak minded.

Both views assume that people buying into religious fantasies and magical doings that appear miraculous are possibly lacking in the mental cognition area.

I leave it for you all to draw your own conclusions.

I have already drawn mine.

Benjamin's avatar

Maybe, but I’m still pretty far from claiming to know the root cause and I guess Satanic worship qualifies as a religion. I’m leaning towards the root cause coming from the Khazarian Empire many centuries ago.

Khazaria was a huge empire in Eastern Europe that for some reason has been neglected in the world history that we were made to memorize. It included a big hunk of what we now call Russia and the country of Ukraine.

The zionist have built a new modern capital city in Kazakhstan named Astana. Strangely we never hear about this country or the city in any of our controlled media. I never hear about pressure from the EU urging Kazakhstan to join the globalist union. I think the current Ukrainian/Russian war has a lot to do with the long past histories of these cultures.

Very insightful article indeed. My question is - why has west abandoned MBS whom they accepted on of their own? Was the whole security structure of US in middle east so fragile? what will the power structure be post MBS? ( if it happens eventually )

LStrong's avatar

The West hasn’t abandoned MBS. Put simply Trump is somewhat checkmated. The American people don’t support Trump’s Iran war of choice and the Midterms are close at hand. Also American weapons reserves have thinned. Consequently Trump is currently reluctant to escalate beyond the present status quo. We’ll see how Trump responds after the Midterms.

Trump is always primarily concerned with his own and his family’s personal gain. MBS is probably reaching out to Jared Kushner asking him to intercede with Trump. If Jared can’t or won’t do that then it will be interesting to see if Jared can maintain his same investment partner status with Mideast wealthy entities.

Arcangela's avatar

thank you. i am very curious regarding this slippery angle …

JohnOnKaui's avatar

The "West" is way too broad a category to determine the why of your question.

Let's start with the nature of the [Anglo-American Oligarchy | Epstein Class | Elites | Mammonist-Talmudic-Cabal | Zionists | Evangelical Christians | Jewish Mob | CIA | Organized Crime: IOW Good's "Tripartite State"]

All of these factions (and factions within factions) complete with one another for power and prestige (which often comes down to money because you can buy those).

The US (a broad cover for all the subgroups listed above) has been pursuing empire since the Pilgrims landed on Plymouth Rock. Empire is the "top of the hill" that their inherent greed always pursues.

The US discovered that it can often obtain its objectives by setting up proxy states. (Aaron Good's excellent video on how the "Banana Man" was able to establish the Banana Republics is an example. A Jewish mobster used criminal force installed a puppet government to then control the land and raise bananas -- a profitable capitalist enterprise.)

Afghanistan was a proxy state used against the USSR.

The NED involvement in Chechnya set up proxy NGOs to encourage friction with Russia.

Same in Georgia. (George Soros reportedly provided the truckloads of roses for the "rose revolution".)

Same in Ukraine. Hopefully everyone understand what the expansion of NATO was all about.

The attempted color revolution in Kyrgyzstan was foiled by the immediate response of the CSTO, but it was a clandestine operation. (Pepe has an article on it.)

The non-existent Uyghur Genocide was China's response to the NED/CIA sponsored ETIM which was spreading terror throughout Xinjiang.

The point is the "US" (and one should understand that this often includes various other nations around the world depending on the "target") has -always- pursued empire. (Even WWII, FDR was plotting against Japan, but do recall the many factions and factions within factions.)

The Israeli Lobby is intent on establishing a "Greater Israel". They have become very powerful within the US. Only 4% of Americans are Jews but 40% of American Billionaires are Jews.

Now, we have several competing conspiracies depending on which faction of the US you believe is ascendent. We've identified the Zionists (Israeli Lobby) which achieved dominance by thwarting GHWB's second term. All that "end of history" BS was propagandized. Who did they "beat"? This is more difficult to identify. GHWB represented the "oil men". Stalin told Elliot that the "Churchill gang" had poisoned his father. The phrase "all wars are bankers wars", points at the Rothschilds. (along with Hillary's plea to know what penance she had to pay.) Others have labeled one of these factions the "Rockefellers". I like to use "Boston Brahmins" who descended from the Pilgrims. Every Billionaire leads his own faction. The mobbed-up Crowne family (General Dynamics) is both part of the Jewish Mob and Zionist.

So...

The Zionist faction persuaded Trump that he could use the US proxy Israel (I reject the tail wags the dog meme) to overthrow the Iranian government so that nation could be returned to imperialist (neo-colonialist) control. Many of the other factions went along with the plot because they could profit (for example oil under control of the 7 sisters again -- although the Venezuelan failure is troubling).

Many of those same factions knew that Iran would close the strait of Hormuz. They are capitalists. A shortage of energy production from the Persian Gulf represents an opportunity. For example, the LNG plant that was being developed in North Alaska which (reportedly) would not have been profitable if Gas continued to flow from the GCC. (NOTE, this is just one of the many, many reasons to allow, if not support, the invasion of Iran. In NO WAY should this be considered the only reason.) These factions supported the invasion because they would profit from its failure. The MIC is another faction that would benefit from the war as they would continue to provide high priced weapons systems that don't work. [aside, the MIC is very good at propagandizing for war anywhere and everywhere. Thus the constant argument about whether or not Ukraine is "winning". Another very long explanation.] Financial capital also wins from a loss. Some report that the Rothschilds supported both sides during WWII because they had the "money", which they created out of thin air.

(Which means I need to tell you all to look for Krainer's 3 part series on the two political-economic systems the world will choose between. The British System or the American System. [Note: the USA has not followed the American System for nearly 100 years. China follows the American System and its economy has grown at more than 5%/year since 1979. Depends on your goal as a financier. Do you create wealth or steal it from labor.])

So the Iran gambit didn't work. The factions of the Oligarchy that bet on it not working will now turn that into attaining power within the American political-economy. They are abandoning MBS, for the same reason they will abandon Ukraine (and the EU) -- it is profitable.

The Zionist influence in the US government (Public State) will be diminished. Perhaps more Congressmen will be persuaded to ally with Thomas Massie and MTG rejecting AIPAC. This is just the beginning of a long slow decline of Zionist influence. It took decades for the Zionists to achieve their position of control of the American government. It will take decades for the other Oligarchic factions to ally with one another to ensure their removal.

For the Average American -- not much is going to change. The Grim Historian has an article about "American Assholes" that covers the history of how Labor "fought back" but that was around 1900. Ever since the Powell Memo was published in 1971, the Oligarchic factions have been allied against labor even as they squabble amongst themselves.

The "West" abandoned MBS because he's no longer useful to them. With oil exports from Arabia halted, there's no money to be made. Some faction of the Oligarchy will move back into Arabia when the "time is right". When that might be, I don't know. Maybe after the coming world wide famine causes Labor to rise against the Oligarchy as a whole and one of their members will recognize, like FDR did when he created the new deal, that the peons have to be thrown a bone or there will be some French Revolution guillotines being constructed.

Have you read “The Seven Pillars of Wisdom”?

JohnOnKaui's avatar

Your comment that starts "Gentlemen" (thanks) does not show up for me here. On the activity page it is sorely truncated so my response is on your "half a thought".

I very much recognize that the conflicts in West Asia go back centuries.

Mitra seems to always remind us, but that history is way too complex to cover in a short essay.

For expanded hints at the history, Alistair Crook was on both Dialogue Works and Danny Davis in the last 2 days (today is 19 Sep). I believe he covers the point you are making (but which I can't see).

AH! The entire comment is in my email. You went in a very different direction than what I anticipated.

The "Christian West" is owned and operated by the Mammonist-Talmudic-Cabal (my label for the Oligarchy; Elites; Epstein Class; Zionists; whatever). The Cabal is not interested in resolving the conflict in West Asia -- it wants to profit from it.

Neither is the Cabal interested in solving the religious wars in the USA. In fact, the Cabal does its best to fan those flames. George Soros and Adelson work in tandem on apparently opposite sides to steal American Wealth for the benefit of the Cabal.

NOTE: the Cabal is not some organization. It is a framework in which the factions (and factions within factions) compete with one another to steal the wealth created by labor. Sometimes they ally, sometimes they declare war on one another. There is no “membership” in the Cabal. It is just an identity based on the participants greed.

mitraraheb's avatar

Tribalism never left saudi arabia, because it is what saudi arabia is made up. However, that does not mean tribalism will equal chaos.

Right away, even united states is tribal when it comes to political structure.

That being said, one cannot change a nation's sociopathic and genetic makeup; no matter how hard one tribes.

John Hardman's avatar

I would respectfully disagree. There is too much money and foreign investment involved to tolerate much instability. Saudi Arabia has only existed as a nation for around 100 years and exists today thanks to Western intervention. Otherwise they will again become insignificant and powerless. The words from Lawrence of Arabia still ring true. In the 1962 film, T.E. Lawrence says: "So long as the Arabs fight tribe against tribe, so long will they be a little people, a silly people - greedy, barbarous, and cruel, as you are".

Yes, the culture can change or they will perish in the modern globalized world economy.

mitraraheb's avatar

With all due respect, I disagree.

Your point abt Arabs may be true but the point is they realized the world has shifted and there is a new boss.

Hence, why the shift

John Hardman's avatar

Prince Ahmed is 75 years old and shall we say less than charismatic. I predict MBS will somehow survive this crisis and continue to receive international support. With the disruption to world energy markets due to Netanyahu and Trump’s attack on Iran, this has become bigger than the Saudi royal family and squabbling Arabian tribes. Change or be dragged into the future.

Sharon Holdren's avatar

T.E. Lawrence may have thought that very truthful statement, but it was Robert Bolt and Michael Wilson who put them into Peter O’Toole's mouth. Unless I'm mistaken and I've read Seven Pillars of Wisdom and the Revolt in the Desert and his collected letter a gazillion times. I've always wanted to use it, but the opportunity never presented itself until now. And you beat me to it. Good job. P.S. I have lived in the ME, and have a Master's in Geography and Middle Eastern Studies, but I have always been of the opinion that Arabia and its oil are a millstone around the neck of the Arab World as long as the country remains in the hands of one family.

John Hardman's avatar

My background is in the psychology of terrorism, and I have been forced into researching the history of Islam and the rise of Islamism. We tend to forget how new the modern Middle East is. When the Ottoman Empire was dismantled at the end of WWI, most of the Middle East was re-colonized by England and France. For centuries, these societies have had no experience of self-rule and only knew the hierarchy of empires and familial tribal allegiance. Some of the ancient cultures, such as Egypt, Syria, Jordan, etc., had some idea of cultural heritage beyond tribalism, but even today many struggle to let go of myopic social structures and open themselves to more comprehensive worldviews.

While conservative Arabia may well be a burden to the Arab World, it is also an anchor during the raging storms of modernization surging through the region in the past few decades. NY Times columnist Thomas Friedman writes of the division of the world into forces of stability vs. chaos. Generally, we register the chaos in the region but underappreciate the value of the forces of stability during phases of massive transformation. I am no big fan of the Saudis or Wahabbism, but I know it is preferable to fully regressive Islamism with its complete rejection of secular societies.

How ironic that an autocratic, regressive tribal society has morphed into an international power hub from its humble roots as nomadic herders, a "silly people" now forged by fate to fully engage with the rest of the world. The world of their heritage has been shattered, and it is little wonder they struggle to regroup and make the sudden transition to international globalization. The current shift away from the West towards Asia will add to the confusion, but perhaps model a sense of a unique identity not mired in Ottoman and Western colonialism. These are exciting and tumultuous times, and a forge for strong leaders to be formed.

I instinctively reject any notion that regression to tribalism is possible. Arabia and the Gulf States are the epicenter of the world's chemical and energy exchange, and responsible stabilization is paramount and non-negotiable. Progress was unfolding rather smoothly until Netanyahu and Trump poked the hornet's nest, unleashing waves of chaos, creating ripple effects throughout the world's economic markets. This is not simply about MBS or Saudi Arabia, but much, much more. Fasten your seatbelts...

Pepe (in my comment above, or somewhere around here ;-) ) agrees with you about the Tribes. He suggests that the nation will soon drop the "Saudi" and return to being just "Arabia".

Wilkerson did an interview recently on Ansarallah where he highly praised their tight tribal organization that so easily defeated the Saudi mercenaries.

Now, we anxiously await the tribes response in Jordan. I'm hoping for an ancillary destruction of the Israeli Lobby in the US. But "money makes the world go 'round" and the Jewish Mob has significant control at the moment.

JohnOnKaui's avatar

Let's short circuit this he said/she said and introduce Pepe:

(Of course, Pepe is right <cough> He's always right <cough, cough>)

Decision Has Been Made: "THROW MBS UNDER THE BUS" - Pepe Escobar

He says (from transcript unedited, that's suppose to be Nayef):

Assuming NBS is out of the picture, who would be

0:2020 secondsthe new ruler of in Riad? Probably Prince Naif. And who is Prince Naif? the

0:2929 secondsCIA man in Riyad. He's under house arrest at the moment. He was put under house arrest by MBS.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7waeDQndmcE&

John Hardman's avatar

Your observations point out that MBS cannot be thrown under the bus because there is no one capable of taking the driver’s seat in his absence. The world is demanding stability, and either MBS or some outside force will make it happen. The Turks ran Mecca for centuries. Maybe the Ottoman Empire is resurrected…

JohnOnKaui's avatar

I don't think you can support the idea that "the world wants stability".

I'm not objecting to the idea, but the "world" has not been stable since even before the Pilgrims landed. The USA has been at war for all but 16 years since it was founded.

MBS is "gone".

Mitra has explained the royal covenant quite often. The tribes are not lead by stupid people. They can probably design a system of governance that they feel comfortable with. Perhaps they will anoint a new royal family. Britain went through several different dynasties. Perhaps they will set up some kind of tribal council, for want of a better example, along the lines of how the 5 families organized the Mafia.

You're giving the Tribes no credit for being able to determine for themselves the form of government they want. Why is any outside force required?

Shall we look at Ansarallah? They've determined that they want independence and the ability to control their own destiny.

Erdogan is working on resurrection of the Ottoman Empire, but as far as I know, it was not going to extend to Arabia. Rather to the East.

John Hardman's avatar

Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps... I doubt Arabia has the luxury of the time it would take to herd squabbling Arab tribes together to get a consensus. The reason the Saudi clan runs the show today is that the warring tribes could not agree, and it had to be imposed by the empires running the show at the time. Imperialists have been replaced by capitalists and oligarchs.

The Arab "mafia" formed after the fall of the Ottoman Empire has endured, and is likely to continue if MBS can grow a pair. This is the moment for a resurrection of the Pan-Arab Movement that failed because of the persistence of Abab tribalism. "Never waste a good crisis." https://www.britannica.com/topic/Pan-Arabism

JohnOnKaui's avatar

More racism and derogatory judgements about Arabs.

The chaos between tribes was purposely instigated by the Anglo-American Oligarchy in their never-ending quest for empire.

There’s no difference there than there is in the US with its internal MAGA vs the world divisions or Indivisible purposely demonizing Trump (no matter how much he deserves it).

The Mammonist-Talmudic-Cabal (or Epstein Class if you like, or just plain Capitalists) has always found it very useful to pit one group against the other, because there is profit to be made in chaos.

They tried to do that in Iran. They had many successful Color Revolutions, but it seems Kyrgyzstan may be the last because of the quick action of the CSTO.

Your insistence that an Authoritarian government is the only option has been proven wrong in Russia, Iran and China.

BRICS has a lot of capital, Arabia is a member. Do you really think China is just going to walk away? Unlike the US, China does not impose a dictatorship or neocolonialism on the nations it trades with.

MBS is over and done. When will you hear what people are saying?

Your definition of a "real" country requires some clarity. Currently, Yemen is a failed country in the midst of a tribal civil war and widespread famine. It certainly is not a Middle East success story. https://www.geopoliticalmonitor.com/yemen-worlds-newest-failed-state/

My question is - why wait for the elder to die? Can’t they already put someone else in the family in power? It seems MBS has been a disaster and now that America has rubbed caused this total mess , why doesn’t MBS try to save his country and bis family‘s future ? It would seem logical to me that he would stop feeding off America and move on to something in his region that would prolong his reign and also keep him in power .
